This Privacy & Terms page explains how this public website is operated and how website visitors may use the site. It does not replace Kat Motlagh's Health Clinics' HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices for patients. If you are a patient or prospective patient, the clinic's HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices explains how protected health information may be used and disclosed for treatment, payment, healthcare operations, and other purposes allowed or required by law.

You may request a copy of the clinic's HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices by contacting the clinic or asking during a visit. Patient records, clinical communications, billing records, and protected health information may be governed by HIPAA, California medical privacy laws, professional rules, and clinic policies separate from this public website notice.

This website is for general information, clinic contact, directions, and patient education. It is not a patient portal, electronic medical record, emergency communication channel, or secure place to send medical details. Please do not send protected health information, urgent symptoms, diagnosis details, photos of medical concerns, insurance cards, payment card numbers, or medical record information through this website, email, social media, third-party review platforms, or newsletter links unless the clinic specifically gives you a secure method to do so.

Information We May Collect Through the Website

Depending on how you use the site, website operation may involve limited technical and contact-related information. This may include internet or electronic activity information, requested page URLs, referring page, device and browser information, approximate location derived from IP address, Core Web Vitals and performance timing, cookie preference choices, and communications you choose to send by phone, email, social platform, review platform, newsletter provider, or other linked third-party service.

We do not use website analytics tools to intentionally collect names, email addresses, appointment details, medical record numbers, symptoms, diagnosis information, treatment details, payment card numbers, or insurance information. If you choose to provide information through a third-party service, that service may process it under its own terms and privacy policy.

Website Analytics, Cookies, and Tracking

This website uses three measurement tools. Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights collect cookieless, privacy-preserving data — page categories, device and browser information, approximate location derived from IP address, and Core Web Vitals performance timing — without setting cookies or tracking individuals across sites. These tools are always active. Google Analytics collects additional on-site interaction data and is optional — it is off unless you choose to enable it through Cookie Preferences, and it stays off when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. Because this is a healthcare website, we limit analytics configuration, strip query strings from interaction events we control, and avoid intentionally sending protected health information through analytics tools.

We do not use this website to serve targeted ads, retarget visitors, run advertising pixels, or build advertising audiences. We do not knowingly disclose protected health information to analytics or tracking vendors. Optional Google Analytics is used only after consent and is configured for site measurement, not advertising.

How We Use Website Information

We use website information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the site; understand which pages are useful; measure site performance; remember privacy choices; respond to communications you initiate; route calls, directions, reviews, and social links; maintain business records; comply with legal obligations; and protect the clinic, patients, staff, website users, and the public from misuse, fraud, security threats, or unlawful activity.

Third-Party Services

We use third-party service providers to operate this site, including Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights (always-on, cookieless) for traffic and performance measurement, and Google Analytics (optional, consent-based) for additional interaction data. We also embed Google Maps for directions, display Instagram content through the Instagram Graph API, link to social platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, and link to Mailchimp for optional newsletter signup.

When optional analytics or embedded third-party features are used, providers may process technical data such as IP address, device/browser details, page interactions, requested page URLs, and referrer information under their own privacy policies and, where applicable, under their service provider agreements with us. We configure analytics for website measurement and do not intentionally send protected health information through these tools.

We are not responsible for the privacy, security, accuracy, or availability of third-party websites, apps, maps, social platforms, payment or financing providers, review platforms, newsletter providers, or embedded services. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Reviews, Social Media, and Public Posts

Reviews, comments, direct messages, tags, public posts, and social media interactions may be visible to others or processed by the platform where they are submitted. Please do not include protected health information, private medical details, photos, appointment details, billing information, or emergency concerns in public reviews or social media messages. We may view, respond to, preserve, or use public reviews and posts for ordinary business purposes, reputation management, legal compliance, quality improvement, and website or marketing content where permitted by law and platform rules.

Newsletter and Marketing Choices

If you choose to sign up for a newsletter or similar communication through a third-party provider such as Mailchimp, that provider may process the information you submit under its own terms and privacy policy. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting the clinic. Transactional or clinic-related communications may still be sent where allowed by law.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). Website analytics data is used solely for internal measurement and improvement and is not sold or disclosed to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do not use this website to serve targeted ads, retarget visitors, or run advertising pixels.

California Privacy Notice

We use internet, device, and approximate-location information to operate the website, measure site performance, prevent misuse, and improve patient education. We do not intentionally collect protected health information, diagnosis details, treatment details, or medical record information through website analytics. If you are a California resident, you may call or email us to ask about rights that may apply to personal information collected through this website, including knowing and accessing, correction, deletion, portability, opting out of sale or sharing, limiting certain sensitive personal information uses, and non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights. We may need information reasonably necessary to verify and process certain requests, but browser-level opt-outs and Cookie Preferences do not require an account. You can also use Cookie Preferences at any time to decline optional analytics for this browser.

If you use an authorized agent to make a privacy request, we may request proof of authorization and may still need to verify the request as permitted by law. Some information may be exempt from deletion or access requests, including information subject to medical privacy laws, legal obligations, security needs, or records that must be retained for clinic operations.

Your Choices

You can opt out of analytics at any time through the Cookie Preferences link. We also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals automatically. If your browser sends a GPC signal, optional Google Analytics remains disabled and cannot be re-enabled from this site unless that browser-level signal is removed. Cookieless Vercel measurement may still run for basic site performance and reliability reporting.

California Do Not Track and GPC Disclosures

Some browsers offer a Do Not Track (DNT) setting. Because there is not a uniform industry standard for DNT, this website does not change all site behavior in response to DNT signals alone. This website does honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals for optional Google Analytics and keeps optional analytics disabled when a GPC signal is detected. We do not use this website for cross-context behavioral advertising, retargeting, advertising pixels, or sale/sharing of personal information.

Security and Retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards for the website, but no website, email system, internet transmission, or third-party platform can be guaranteed completely secure. Website information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for website operation, security, analytics, communications, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and ordinary business recordkeeping, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

If we determine that a security incident requires notice under applicable law, we will provide notice as required by that law.
